Gordon Babcock Is a Soulless Ahole

I don't usually rant about my father, but he's gone too far this time.

Let's just ignore all the crap he's done in the past for a moment and look at what he's currently doing: suing us.

He makes over $250,000 a year. He pays us less than 1/4 of that. He is accusing my youngest brother Stephen of lying about his grades and trying to get back the tuition money the courts have made him pay in the past (because he would never voluntarily pay for a dependent's tuition in the first place). He is trying to get out of paying for his share of Mark's medical and dental bills because Mark was turned down for Social Security disability.

Mom is currently unemployed. Mark is currently unemployed and it's proven nigh-impossible (i.e. he's still barely potentially employable and he's been trying for years without success) to find him a job because of his disability. Stephen goes to school full time and has occasional part-time work. I am only taking one class right now and have a part-time job at Subway. Gordon is a Senior Systems Engineer for Computer Sciences Corporation who could easily afford to marry again after he was divorced for sexual deviancy.

Oh, incidentally, we may need Campus Security around for the next Game Presentation in case Gordon shows up and needs escorting out.

Yeah, well unfortunately he tends to get away with a lot.

He's been penalized for outright not paying, but not for other crap, regardless of the consequences for us. For example:

1) He delays paying for my youngest brother's Stephen's tuition (I'm not a dependent, he still is) for several months, but we have to pay for the whole thing immediately so Stephen can actually sign up for the classes.

2) Mom has to pay off the interest on her credit cards.

3) Gordon's share finally gets paid (after months and months of him dragging his feet and coming up with excuses) and Mom is refunded the part she shouldn't have had to pay in the first place.

4) Gordon hears of Mom getting refunded for tuition (because we paid Gordon's share up-front) and Gordon uses that to claim that Stephen dropped all of his classes and we're somehow using the college to rip him off.

But this is just the latest BS in a lot of BS that we've had to put up with.

Well we'll just have to wait and see. I'm actually pretty hopeful, because Mom's put together a pretty solid case against him.

The hearing (or whatever it's called) is on the 27th.

Well we went to court this morning and I have just one thing to say:

FRAWRESS VICTORY!!!!!!!

It turned out better than I was hoping. Basically, he didn't get any of what he was asking for, all of which were essentially unreasonable. The judge mostly ruled in our favor this time, though Mom still got upset at some of his insinuations about her honesty (when he's the one who's the greedy deceitful bastard with no regard for the well-being of his family).

Unfortunately, he'll probably try more crap down the line, but for now he's been sorted out.
